Method To Solve Redirect Error Issue in WordPress?

The most common misconfiguration that users have come across repeatedly is when the user has incorrect URL in the WordPress Address URL or website Address URL settings. If your website was working fine, and you you didn’t make any changes to those settings, then you need to contact your web host because it is most probably a configuration problem at their end. However, if you don’t have a reliable WordPress hosting provider and they deny having any issues or refuse to help you, then you should consider switching the web hosts or fix it yourself. In order to fix this redirect error issue, you need to change your WordPress Address and the Website Address. Go to the Settings » General, just change your WordPress and Website Address. If you have your address with www prefix, then alter it to non-www URL, and if you have it with non-www URL then add the www prefix.

Change the Website URL Without Access to the Admin Area

In case, if you do not have access to the WordPress Admin area, you can still update these settings by defining them in the wp-config.php file. Simply connect to your WordPress website using an FTP client. Once you are connected to your website, you will find wp-config.php file in your domain’s root directory. Now, you need to download and edit this file by using a text editor like Notepad. Simply add these two lines to the file and do not forget to replace example.com with your own domain.

1. define(‘WP_HOME’,’http://example.com’);

2. define(‘WP_SITEURL’,’http://example.com’);

Then after, save the file and upload it back to your web server. Now, try to access your WordPress website. If you still can not access your website, then try to add your domain with www prefix.
